Our History

Type or paste yoRyan Funeral Home is family owned and operated. It was established by brothers, David J. Ryan and Robert A. Ryan Jr., with the help of their parents Robert A. Ryan Sr. and Imogene Ryan in 1976. Since its inception in 1976 David and Robert A. Ryan Jr. have been dedicated to personally serve the residents of the Tri-State and surrounding areas through professionalism. 

In July of 2011 Steven L. Ryan decided to join Ryan Funeral Home in order to continually serve the needs of the residents of the Tri-State area through the same core values instilled by David and Robert A. Ryan Jr.

  • Robert Anderson Ryan Jr.

    Robert Anderson Ryan Jr. Owner - Funeral Director/Embalmer Licensed in TN and GA

    Robert (Bobby) A. Ryan Jr. is a lifelong resident of Dade County, GA and member of Trenton United Methodists Church. He attended North Dade Elementary School and graduated Dade County High School in 1962. After graduation of high school he attended the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. He later attended John A. Gupton school of Mortuary Science in Nashville, TN and graduate in 1969. He than began work for Ross Lane at Lane Funeral Home – Southcrest Chapel then Turner Funeral Home in 1972. He was appointed to the Georgia State Board of Funeral Services in 1975 by the honorable Governor George Busbee where he served 3 terms until 1994. He recently was awarded a pin for his dedicated service to the funeral profession for over 40 years by the Georgia Funeral Directors Association.Wife: Tabitha RyanSons: Robert A.     David J. Ryan Funeral Director/Embalmer Licensed in TN and GA

    David J. Ryan is a lifelong resident of Dade County, GA and attends Trenton United Methodists Church. He attended North Dade Elementary School and graduated Dade County High School in 1968. After graduation he attended Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in Louisville, KY and graduated in 1970. He then attended Dalton Junior College and graduated in 1972 with an Associate of Arts – Liberal Arts. He then went to the University of Georgia where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1975.Wife: Polly RyanSon: Michael Ryan

  • Steven Lawrence Ryan

    Steven Lawrence Ryan Owner - Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

    Steven L. Ryan is married to Lindsay M. Rogers Ryan and has one child Carter Ryan and expecting their second in June of 2015. They currently live in Trenton, Georgia. Steven is a graduate of Dade County High School Class of 2001. After high school he moved to Marietta, GA and attended Southern Polytechnic State University where he attained a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology in 2006. He currently holds his Fundamentals of Engineering license. He decided to join the family business in July 2011. He attained his Associate in Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service Education from Jefferson State Community College in May of 2014. He is currently a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Georgia and in the State of Alabama. Steven’s wife, Lindsay, is also a graduated of Dade County High School Class of 2004. They where married on October 21, 2006 at Trenton United Methodists Church where Steven is a member. They welcomed their first child, Carter Jasper, on March 11, 2010 and most recently their second child, Charlie Jase on June 02, 2015. Lindsay currently works at Dade County Department of Public Health Steven enjoys running, fishing, football, and most importantly spending time with his family.

    Bruce E. Bowden Funeral Assistant

    Bruce is a Dade County native and lifelong resident of Lookout Mountains West Brow Community. He graduated from Northwest Georgia High School, class of 1981 and from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1994. After 24 years of service with Carriage Services, Inc., Bruce returned to Dade County with the staff at Ryan Funeral Home in December, 2018. He will soon celebrate his thirty-year marriage to Tolitha Higdon-Bowden and has two children, Bridgette Bowden Von-Mayer and Nicholas Bowden. Three grandchildren, Makena & Presley Tinker, & Savannah Bowden are very dear to Bruce.
