Amand "Andy" Pearce Stephens, Jr.

Amand “Andy” Pearce Stephens Jr. passed away unexpectedly at his home in Trenton, GA on February 28, 2026. An only child, Andy was born to & preceded in death by his parents), Amand Pearce Stephens Sr. (US Navy) & Carrie Elizabeth Stephens Farr, & his step-father, Johnny Farr Jr. (US Navy), who raised Andy after his father passed. Born & raised in Trenton, Georgia, Andy graduated from Dade County High School in 1967, where he was a member of the Beta Club, 4-H, FBLA, Pep Club & the Dade Football team. He was voted Most Talented for Senior Superlatives. He was also active in the Cherokee Council Troop 143 Boy Scouts throughout his younger years. A life-long student & learner, Andy attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga & graduated with a BA degree in 1981. He furthered his education with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Environmental Protection Technology in 1988. At UTC Andy was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society at Chattanooga State. During the time between earning those two degrees, Andy would gain numerous certifications in the field of hazardous material & environmental regulations & technology, through Chattanooga State, Ferris State, the Global Environment & Technology Foundation, & the Environmental Compliance Group, which led to him teaching Hazardous Material Management & Regulations at Chattanooga State. An avid audio enthusiast, Andy’s early work career included Circuit City & Radio Shack, where he made lifelong friends. He was later an environmental consultant with Mueller Company. Outside of work, Andy had an extreme passion for music & was a gifted drummer, playing around town over the years in numerous bands, including Brother John & GRL. He would meet up with friends for impromptu jamming sessions at their homes on weekends & was ready to drum at any given time. Andy was a second-degree black belt in Pai Lum Kung Fu & a Golden glove boxer. He loved stepping into the ring. He also loved Formula 1 Racing & could be found watching it any Sunday. His love of cars showed in the many different stylish & cool cars (Trans Ams, De Tomaso Pantera, BMW e46m3, Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider) that he owned over the years, & most recently, his beloved 2008 BMW m3. Andy had a very extensive & unique collection of firearms & enjoyed shooting with friends. Along with his parents, Andy was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, W.E. & Lula Ellen Gandy & paternal grandparents, Hosey & Della Stephens, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles & cousins. He is survived by special friends, Louise, Todd & Ridge Clark, Brian Peters, Richard Lawler, Bill Ventress & the Cureton family, as well as nieces & nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 106, in Trenton, GA on Sunday, April 12th at 4:00 p.m.
