Imogene Parson Ryan

January 15, 1921 - March 19, 2015

Imogene Parson Ryan, age 94, of Wildwood, Georgia died Thursday morning March 19, 2015 at her home. She was born at home in Morganville within a mile of where she lived. She attended Dade County schools and graduated class of 1938. She was retired from the Dade County School System where she served as secretary at the Elementary and High School. She also served as the Administrative Secretary of the Dade County Teachers Credit Union from its inception until her retirement and took pride in that she balanced with the State of Georgia on every Audit. She was a founding member of the North Dade Community Development Corp., a lifetime member of the Georgia Retired Education Association and American Business Women’s Association. She was also Secretary of Ryan Funeral Home from 1976 until she retired in 2011. She was a member of the Morganville United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing the piano at church and at home.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Ryan, Sr. after 65 years of marriage; parents Jesse S. and Lora Fugatt Parson; brother Jack Parson; sisters Grace Patterson and Lucille Word.

Surviving include her sons Robert A. Ryan, Jr. (Tabitha) and David J. Ryan (Polly); four grandsons Robert A. Ryan, III (Kassandra), Shawn Ryan, Steven L. Ryan (Lindsay), and Michael D. Ryan (Tisha); six great-grandchildren Maty Ryan, Jaxon Ryan, Emmy Ryan, Cade Ryan, Carter Ryan, and Kaitlyn Hubbard; one sister Hazel Doyle; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Sunday March 22, 2015 in the chapel with Dennis Murphy and Darrin Herring officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Honorary Pallbearers John Gothard and Steve Wilson. Family will receive friends 5 PM until 8 PM Saturday and 11 AM until 1 PM Sunday at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, Georgia.
