Ruth Stephens Townson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruth Stephens Townson, 89, of Bryant, AL, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Townson was a homemaker and gardner and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for 42 years. She and her late husband, Royce Ray Townson, operated Townson Roofing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winnie Otis & Ida Sanford Stephens, brothers, Otis, Jim, Joe, & Bob Stephens, and sisters, Edith Michaels, Alice Weaver, Grace Marona Carter, & Naomie Womack. Survivors include her daughter, Thresia (Mack) Beagles of Ringgold, GA; sons, Steve (Helen) Townson & Richard (Camilla) Townson, all of Bryant, AL; sisters, Shirley Patton, Rossville, GA, Glenda McCallie, Silsbee, TX, Barbara Garrison, Athens, TN, & Martha Reed, Bryant, AL; grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Howard, Jared (Brittany) Torbett, Chris (Melissa) Townson, Mandi (Robert) Reed, Lindsy (Jesse) Thornhill, Stacey (Shannon) Fortner; great-grandchildren, Jace, Jhett, Jade, Christian, Ethan, Titus, Evelyn (Evie), Matthew, Whitley, Anderson, Shiane, Steele, & Shade; several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jared Torbett & Dr. Christopher E. Townson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Park with great-grandsons serving as pallbearers Expressions of sympathy may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
