Mitchell Wayne Ford

Mitchell Wayne Ford, 73, of Trenton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, passing peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Mitchell was a devoted follower of Christ who loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a longtime member of Carpenters Cowboy Church and, following the passing of his beloved pastor years ago, he recently began visiting Trenton Ministry Center. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he shared the love of Christ with his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him. Mitchell dearly loved his family, especially his beloved wife, whom he lost nearly a year ago. While our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he is rejoicing in Heaven, reunited with his wife and loved ones who have gone before him. He lived with the confidence and assurance that one day he would see her again, and that hope carried him through life's hardest seasons. A gifted musician and singer, Mitchell had a passion for music and was talented in many instruments, including the guitar, drums, and piano. He faithfully used those God-given talents to worship the Lord, playing for many years in the band at Carpenters Cowboy Church. Through music, he helped lead others into worship and shared his love for Christ in a way that touched countless lives. Mitchell was truly a man of many talents. There was rarely a problem he could not solve or an idea he could not improve upon. Family members often sought his advice, knowing he always had wisdom, encouragement, or a creative solution to offer. There wasn't much he couldn't do if he set his mind to it. He lived life to the fullest and approached each day with determination, faith, and purpose. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was simply "Grandpa"—and a wonderful one at that. He loved spending time with his family, sharing stories, offering guidance, making memories, and teaching those he loved about Christ. His love, laughter, and steady presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by generations to come. Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Ford; his parents, Frank Virgil Ford Sr. and Winona Agatha Ford; his son, Christopher Lee Ford; and siblings, Frank Virgil Ford Jr., and Donnie Ray Ford. He is survived by his siblings, Beverly Raper and Patricia (Stanley) Breedlove; his daughters, Terri (Joey) Rutherford and Tanisha Bradshaw; his grandchildren, Hailey (Bryan) Sutton, Ean Rutherford, Devon Ordonez and Alex Ricketts; his great-grandchildren, Brynnlea Sutton, Braylen Sutton, and Tripp Sutton; and his great-great-grandchild, Colsyn Chambers; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory. Though he will be deeply missed, Mitchell leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, music, wisdom, and devotion to family. His influence will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of those he loved. We rejoice in the assurance that he has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and has entered into the presence of his Savior. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24th at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Tinker officiating. Interment will follow in Shantytown Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23rd from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
